Our Process

Are you deciding between demolition and deconstruction? Give us a call and our team will walk you through the donation appraisal process, answer your initial questions, and help determine whether your project may be a good fit. We’ll also explain what information we need in order to prepare an initial quote.

Next, you’ll complete our inspection intake form and provide details about your project scope, timeline, property type, and planned deconstruction work. You’ll also upload photos of the property and any materials, fixtures, or areas being considered for donation so our team can begin evaluating the opportunity remotely.

After reviewing your intake form, photos, and project details, our team will provide a quote based on the information submitted. This quote will outline the estimated value range of the Fair Market Value of your donation and the next steps for moving forward with an IRS-compliant appraisal.

After your quote is received, you will get an engagement packet that includes information regarding our IRS-compliant appraisal. Once engaged, one of our Project Engineers will come on-site to perform an in-person inspection, take measurements, document eligible materials, and gather the information needed for the appraisal process.

We will connect you with a non-profit or contractor to complete the deconstruction process if you don’t have one in mind. After speaking with a CPA or tax advisor, you will notify the deconstruction crew of your preferred pick-up time and date for the deconstructed materials and/or personal property.

Once your house has been deconstructed and the materials have been donated, we receive a detailed itemized donation receipt that is used to conduct our research. Your appraisal and IRS Form 8283 will arrive 4-6 weeks later.
